The Artist Says:
I paint landscapes and abstracts. My hope is that people find moments of peace, joy, and zen when they view my work.
Biography
I was born in Ohio in 1960. I lived in Ohio for 22 years and then moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I got married and spent the next 30+ years raising a couple of kids, substitute teaching, working retail, crafting beaded jewelry, and taking drawing, sculpting, and jewelry making classes at the Carrboro Artscenter to save my sanity. In 2016 I started painting and discovered my second life's work. I delight in rendering light and its impact on the world using acrylic paint or watercolor. Abstract or landscape, I want my viewers to *feel* that space or place. In our hurried, frantic world, we can all use a little zen. I had my first show at the Carrboro Artscenter in 2017 as part of their “Emerging Artist” series. I also show my work in local wine shops and pop-up galleries.
