Artist Bio
Mary Jane Mulholland
Born in Portland, Maine, I  grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts. Since childhood, art has been one of my passions. After graduation from college, I started a teaching career and studied art for several years with North Shore artist Charles Impel.
Since retirement from teaching high school English, I’ve studied art to expand knowledge and skills through both studio and online classes. Current work, both digital and paint, is juried into the Lighthouse Gallery in Lubec, ME. This spring, 2021, I was invited to present my work in a solo show at galleriesatlynnarts.com in the heart of Lynn’s Cultural district.
Since 2017, I’ve focused on learning digital work, which I’ve shown in Florida, Maine, and Massachusetts. You can see my work at https://www.instagram.com/mary_jane_mulholland_art/ or on my website: https://maryjanemulholland.com. Recent digital work won Honorable Mention in Cape Coral Art Association, CC, Florida, juried spring show (2018) and Best of Show at the Marblehead Arts Festival digital event(2019). In addition, I presented at RAA&M, Experimental Group, July 2019, a slide show entitled “Digital Art: Following the Learning Curve”, where I described teaching myself to use digital art apps.
Current memberships include: RAA&M, Rockport, MA Experimental Group; Alliance for the Arts, Fort Myers, FL; Concord Art Assoc., Concord, MA; and Galleries at Lynn Arts, Lynn, MA.
