An example of fine art by Mary Ellen Daly

Photo of Mary Ellen Daly

I grew up on Long Island, New York and currently reside in Long Neck, Delaware. I have worked as a graphic designer and artist, having shown since 1980 regionally in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania,  and Delaware.  Art has been a part of my life since a very early age, I have been honing my craft all of my adult life working in many different mediums, studying with many acclaimed professional artists. For the past 25 years I have been working with Master Printer Brandon Graving in her studio Gravity Press located in North Adams, MA.
After relocating to Delaware from Massachusetts I joined with a small group of printmakers working in all aspects of printing, whose aim is to challenge and expand the public perception of printmaking. My work is a blend of visual realism combined with abstract expressionism working at the interface between printmaking and painting. This is achieved by building images layer by layer in a painterly process of controlled accidents, there is no predictable outcome.  It is indeed my wish that people will recall a meaningful memory when they view my paintings and thus find my work to be an experience and not just a detached image.
My work can be viewed by appointment at my studio, The Studio on Walnut, 310 Walnut Street, Milton, Delaware and at Gallery 37, 8 South Walnut Street, Milford, DE 19963.
