Although a Colorado native, Mary Alice began painting in Weisbaden, Germany, with a noted museum curator, Heinz Hertzfeld. Building upon this classical training while striving to develop stronger emotional content, she continued art studies at the Art Student League of Denver with Quong Ho, Sandra Kaplan, and Margaretta Gilboy.
Tim Deibler, Mark Nelson, Michael Workman and Ray Roberts have both instructed and greatly influenced her approach to favored subject matter, landscapes.
Mary Alice’s award winning paintings are featured in homes and institutions throughout the United States and Poland. Her works have been featured in five one-woman exhibits.  Most recently her paintings alone raised $23,000.00 for Alzheimer’s and breast cancer research, diseases that shortened the lives of her mother and daughter.
Whether painting landscape or still life, in the studio or plein air, her finished works reflect a unique, elegant sense of color and abstract composition. These are the central esthetic qualities demanded of her artistic objective, “to honor and celebrate the divinity of beauty.”
