Biography


Marni is a versatile artist who excels in a variety of mediums, winning awards for her pastels, oils and coloured pencils. With limited exposure, her work has been recognized with a Special Excellence award at the Harness Tracks of America Juried Show in Lexington, Ky., An Honorable mention at BC’s Valley Fine Arts Show. Her pastel of 3 German Shepherds,“The Boys”, in the Light, Space and Time Online  Gallery “Animals” Art Exhibit was awarded a Special Recognition out of 400+ entries world wide. Her hand painted fiddle won 2 awards at the 2015 Calgary Stampede Arts & Crafts Show. Just recently Marni was invited to participate in the Imago Mundi Project from Italy. She received one of 240 canvases given to artists for the Western Canadian collection which will be completed in 2016 and will begin it’s tour world wide. Sixty countries have already been done, and are touring. Once the remaining countries are complete and have toured, the art will be in a permanent museum in Italy. She will receive a hardbound book with the entire collection as a memento of the project.
Marni’s work centers on her love for horses, her portfolio also includes a variety of portraits of dogs, cats, people, still lifes and landscapes. A former resident of Langley, BC, in 1997 she graduated Dean’s List with a Graphic Design and Communications Diploma at the Fraser Valley College in Abbotsford. Since then she has worked as a freelance designer creating logos for the BC Breeders Society and the Central Ontario Standardbred Assoc., and has also worked as a graphics technician in the printing industry.  Marni is a Signature Member of Institute of Equine Artists & Pastel Artists Canada, founding member of Canadian Equine Artists Society, Director of Airdrie Regional Arts Society, & member of Canine Artists Guild and Federation of [...]
