Mark D. Bird has worked in a professional career of over forty years as a distinguished architectural illustrator and designer.  A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Bird has built a reputation for quality work... without compromise.  Over the course of his architectural career, working with many of the world's foremost architects and designers, he has illustrated countless real estate development projects on an international scale.  During this period, he led a team of six illustrators who became known for their combined expertise in the illustration of retail and mixed-use developments.
Additionally, Mr. Bird has produced commemorative edition artworks for public and private events, businesses, agencies and a multitude of other clientele.  His works hang in private and corporate collections around the globe.  Among these commemorative editions were works produced for:
The St. James Court Art Show, 1981-1987; 2016
The National Trust for Historic Preservation, 1982
Kentucky Derby Festival, 1985, 1993
Breeders' Cup, 1985
Kentucky Derby Museum, 1985
Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Inc., 1988
Chicago Hilton and Towers, 1988
Simon Property Group, 1990
GE Appliances, 1992
RCA Championships, 1992
As an architectural designer, Mr. Bird was instrumental in the design and marketing of real estate developments and later in his professional career, as an interior designer.  His interiors focus was primarily on kitchen design and construction.
While this work was at times exhilarating and demanding, it did not truly satisfy his desire to produce art solely of his own direction.
It is with this purpose then, that Mr. Bird begins his next career as a fine artist.  As he travels the world in search of inspiring, architecturally significant subjects, he will record his visions through his skillful style and inherent senses of emotion and interpretation, and sincerely hopes you will enjoy the results.
