Marilee Stockman’s passions for life and art are evident in her sculptures and paintings.  Her sculpture has an alluring quality brought on by the powerful moodiness expressed.  The surface resolutions of her sculpture enhance the depth of the emotions expressed and the     surface resolutions, which enhance the depth of the emotional experience for the viewer.  The feeling for the forms and shapes of nature is the inspiration for both her abstract and figurative works.  She relates all of her work to the figure and it’s relationship to its environmental surroundings.
Marilee creates her sculptures from clay, wax, bronze, stone, wood, and welded steel.      Originally from Dayton, OH, Marilee now resides in Ventura, CA.  She has a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University and taught in the Ohio and California school [...]
