An example of fine art by Margie K Leach

I was born and raised in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in the bucolic setting of an old Victorian home surrounded by beautiful small Amish farms. There I spent happy childhood days building hay forts in the Amish lofts, riding their horses and buggies, and swimming in the creek that edged my parents' property.
As a young child, I was inspired by the beauty nature had provided and did a lot of sketching of horses and outdoor scenes which were part of my daily life. After marriage, with two children in school, I attended a college in western Pennsylvania as a painting major. My studies were interrupted by my physician husband’s career move to Houston, Texas where I continue to pursue my interest in painting. I am privileged to have two studios; one at our Houston residence and a barn studio at our farm in south, central Texas. The scenery there stimulates my artistic energy and is reminiscent of my youth.
My painting style is realistic. I emphasize strong color, generous paint strokes and a source of light. I paint still life and landscapes and often do them outdoors with the atmosphere and sunlight illuminating my subjects.
I hope to always be a painter and continue to grow with my passion in art.
