The Artist Says:

After several years of attending art classes that didn't challenge me, I've come to realize that real growth comes from painting every day!  This can be a challenge at times, but almost everyday I look forward to starting a new painting.  Finishing a painting in about 3 hours is the norm for me, I find that working too long will only produce an overworked piece.  So, enough of this, I'm ready to paint!!!

Biography

Marcia is from the Laguna area, now residing in Eastern Washington with her husband, they relocated to be close to family. Painting along side some of California's most accomplished artists en plein air near her home, by far was the most most rewarding and educational start for her as an artist. In her 20 years as a professional artist she has completed more than 1000 paintings, concentrating on oils, loves to sketch, and works in watercolor and pastels.  A recent move to Eastern WA has opened up a whole new world of landscape and subjects for her.  Marcia's love for studio and plein air allows her to paint everyday.  She is dedicated to continued growth and improving her skills, describing her work as Painterly Realism.  Marcia enjoys a variety of subjects and can't find enough time to paint everything that excites her.  She loves to capture life as it is lived out in today's world. Quite honestly she believes that when she quit attending workshops, that led her into too many directions, is when she started to truly grow and develop as an artist.  Her goal is to PAINT EVERY DAY!  She believes she wouldn't have improved if she didn't work hard and paint, paint, paint. Marcia is grateful that others began to take notice and eventually was accepted into various exhibitions and won many awards for her work which led to invitations into several galleries where her work found much success.  A move to a new state brings challenges, but as an artist she stays positive and uses this uncertain time to continue working hard and appreciate every moment, and definitely ENJOY THE PROCESS.  She feels blessed to know that many of her paintings are appreciated across the country and abroad and looks forward to what the future brings.  Painting [...]
