Welcome to Madeline Morrow Art and my work from The Spare Room Studio.  I hope you enjoy browsing through the collection of paintings and, feel free to join my mailing list to keep in touch about new work and exhibition news.
My painting style has been informed by training in the classical method, initially at an independent atelier, the Stevenson Academy of Renaissance Art, whose director apprenticed with Norman Rockwell.  Then, after working for a decade in creative positions in magazines and public relations in NYC, I moved to London. There I continued evening oil painting studies initially with Ali Yana, followed by London Fine Arts Studios, and via numerous workshops with a variety of professional artists.  It has also been my pleasure to be a Tour Guide at the Royal Academy of Arts bringing to life the history, stories, paintings and artists. 
Still life paintings form the bulk of my work although, I very much enjoy painting portraits and the occasional landscape.  My small-scale paintings embrace both the traditional and contemporary, mostly in a square format and, in uncluttered, simple compositions.  I gravitate towards similar works while exploring museums, and especially remember being totally bowled over by a small Manet, Flowers in a Crystal Vase!  I am besotted with glass and adore painting the very humble glass jar and my bijoux mini series which make perfect gifts! 
I belong to The Society of Fulham Artists & Potters and, have exhibited with them as well as The Chelsea Arts Society, Gallery 57, East Dulwich, the Green & Stone Art Gallery, Chelsea, the Landmark Arts Centre Teddington, and in the U.S. at the SVAN Gallery in Northville, NY.  I have also submitted to and have been preselected for The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil.  My paintings [...]
