She earned a degree in English at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began a pursuit of an education in fine arts when her children entered school."I enjoy the whimsey of figure painting and the discipline of accomplishing a portrait. I have worked in many mediums; my favorite to date is oil paint. My palette is always paint-ready and my clothes are stained. I am happy."Corey was named "Top Ten In Tennessee by the Tennessee portrait Society, has been juried into exhibits at Chattanooga's AVA, Knoxville's Dogwood Arts Festival and has been a featured artist at The Centennial Club of Nashville. Her work has been shown by The Shuptrine Fine Art Group at Goldleaf Designs and Gallery, The River Gallery, and Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga and at Anne Irwin Fine Art in Atlanta. Presently she is represented by Ron York at York and Friends Fine Art in Nashville, TN, and Southern Palettes in Baltimore, MD.  Corey's portrait, The Birthday Boy, has been named a finalist in the Portrait Society of America's All Member Competition - non commissioned division. Her work can be seen on her Facebook page, on Instagram @maddinpaints and at maddincoreyportraits.com.
