Biography
I began studying painting in 2012. As a child, my sister & I spent many hours drawing for entertainment. I received a BFA in Art Education. Family life left little time for painting. After my children began their adult lives, I enrolled in a life drawing class at Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, NY with Keith Gunderson. I was soon taking two classes per week. In 2013-2015, I took classes at Woodstock School of Art, Woodstock, NY. After an intensive portraiture workshop with Daniel Greene at his studio, I studied portraiture with Wende Coporale and the figure with Tracy Burtz at Katonah Art Center, Katonah, NY. In the fall of 2017, I studied with Mary Beth McKenzie at the Art Student League, NYC, NY. Recently, I took a virtual class in perspective with Steve Walker through the Art Student League. I have taken many workshops and some of the most influential to me were Daniel Greene, Ellen Eagle and Karen O'Neil. I feel very blessed to be able to practice painting and to share my visual world with others.
My work has been shown at Barrett Art Center; Woodstock School of Art; Merritt Bookstore, Millbrook, NY; Hyde Park Artists' Collective , Hyde Park, NY and Tivoli Art Gallery, Tivoli, NY.
