Biography

Lori Beringer / American Artist

Beringer grew up in the small village of Greenbush, Wisconsin.  She remembers filling her days drawing small portraits on the pads of her father’s blank memo pads.  The colors, line, shapes of the world captured her desire to create.  Sketching friends as they studied was a favorite.  Her love affair with oil paint began with her first small set in the 8th grade art class.  Decades later the affair continues.  Beringer is know for her bold brushwork whether it is a quaint building or portraits that capture the emotion of the moment.  Honesty in her work is the utmost importance.

Although mostly a self-taught artist, Beringer credits workshops with fine instruction along with studio experience with Dan Gerhartz.  Joaquin Sorolla, Nicolai Fechin and John Singer Sargent have influenced for her style. Lori paints plein air throughout the year, primarily in her home state of Wisconsin. Her travels have taken her to various painting locations within the United States, Mexico, and France.
Recently Beringer was honored to be a part of the Faces of Wisconsin Exhibition at the Cedarburg Art Museum, Wi and was juried into 20th Annual National American Impressionists Exhibition held at the historic Salmangundi Club in New York, New York.
