An example of fine art by Loretta Feeney

The Artist Says:

I concentrate on painting  our time, being true to the world around us now.
As a young artist I studied and learned to paint on location under John Teralak in Rockport and Gloucester Harbor, Ma.  This education has stayed with me, and now as a mid-career artist in my early 50's, it's great to be in the studio painting, but I am striving to get back on the road, to work exstensively on location.

Collectors Say:

Loretta Feeney's paintings depict more than just a scene. They reflect a warm feeling about a place; and this warmth fills the rooms of my home. Captain William Frew

We just had the family over for a private viewing, and the verdict was unanimous. The paintings are incredible, bringing the scenes to life, conveying the excitement of Fenway Park. We'll take them both. Attorney Peter Bernhard

Loretta Feeney’s body of work, which runs the gamut from iconic Fenway Park scenes to cityscapes, landscapes and Cape Cod scenes all share one key attribute; one never tires of gazing at these fine examples of American impressionism. They hang as proud treasures in our homes. Daniel & Patricia Kelly

Dealers Say:

Loretta's mastery of the craft is very much in tact, but it is those indefinable ingredients of the soul and fire that position her apart from the rest. Edward Cunningham: Fine Arts Trading, Massachusetts

Her work is exciting because it sparkles. Her personality comes out in the paintings. She is a cheerful soul. She is a happy painter. To look at her work is to get a good feeling. Artistically mature, competitive, prolific and already a star; and with enormous potential, she is one of the most promising artists to ever show at Trees Place. Julian Baird: Trees Place, Massachusetts

Loretta's style is fresh, vibrant and highly accomplished. She leans toward a late impressionism, her delightful Paris scenes appeal to many. One can feel the enthusiasm and spontaneity of this painter with every brush stroke. Celia Purcell: Contemporary Gallery, London

Other Artists Say:

Feeney has done a series of on location studies while traveling through Ireland, serene reflections of the landscape through her impressionistic style and skill. Her taste for experimentation keeps both her skills and sensibilities in focus. Her paintings explore an endless array of impressions, moving gracefully from the fervor of New York's 42nd Street to the serenity of an Irish hillside.
American Artist Magazine: By Edward Feit:

My approach to painting is to delve in without strict expectations. I come to the canvas with maybe only a small vision, flashes of a color combination, lines to develop. a mood to convey.
Using these methods of open expectations generate surprise and welcoming results.
Layering the washes of colors  often result in achieving colors that cannot be created any other way. This method breaks any repetition and is generating a movement of surprise color that looks different under different lighting.
This approach keeps the painting breathing and the procedure exciting.
