Lois VanLiew received a Bachelor of Art Education degree from Kansas University. At KU, she studied painting with Robert Sudlow, Robert Green and Raymond Eastwood. Since graduating from KU, she has been a studio artist, in addition to teaching in a high school in Kansas City for four years, and later teaching adult education classes in Wisconsin, where she lived for many years. She returned to Kansas in 2004.  She has worked in a variety of mediums and subject matters. Lois has won numerous awards, and her work has been included in many juried regional and national exhibits, as well as many invitational exhibits. She is represented in both private and museum collections.
