The basic story of BADDA'S BUDDY is autobiographical, drawing from my golden years spent in the company of my grandfather.  We lived in a particular sub-culture of Norwegian Americans in the area of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where so many Norwegian immigrants settled in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
People from Italy, Puerto Rico, and Eastern Europe all lived in similar enclaves that bordered one another.  These days, the same places are inhabited largely by people from China and the Middle-East.
BADDA'S BUDDY tells a story that has been repeated through the generations in Brooklyn. People who grow up in one sub-culture learn to expand their world, making room for and enjoying others.
