Liz Donald is a self taught artist with the help of art classes in various media.  She has always loved and appreciated art and the great masters and enjoyed seeing the many art museums in New York City, Boston, Paris, Florence, Venice, Mexico and anywhere she lived or traveled. 
Liz was born in Detroit Michigan and grew up and was educated in Bangor Maine.  She graduated from Mt. St. Bernard College in Antigonish Nova Scotia, Canada.  From there Liz moved to Manhattan where she worked at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.
In 1967, Liz and her then husband Charles R. Donald moved to Waitsfield Vermont where they owned and operated Gallagher's, a popular  after-ski restaurant and bar  and in the summer they owned and operated Gallagher's Downeast  a hotel and restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine.

In 1976, Liz and her family moved to Newport Rhode Island where she spent 21 years. She had her first experience with art at the Newport Art Museum where she took drawing classes.  Her busy life with work and her family  didn't allow much time for art at that time.  She had a long career in management both in banking and as a manager for a law firm in Newport Rhode Island.  

In 1997, Liz moved to Boston where she worked as a manager for Arnold Public Relations and Leadership & Learning Inc. and was a member of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.   In 2004 Liz retired to Bangor Maine where she began taking classes in oil, acrylic and pastel.  During the winters, she spent time in San Miguel de Allende Mexico where she fell in love with the art and colors of the country as well as the Mexican culture.  Liz presently lives in Camden Maine and managed the Barb Jackson Gallery in [...]
