Biography


 

  
 
Linda L. Anderson has been creating and professionally exhibiting her art for over thirty-five years.  Her creative works are part of private and public collections in America and in Europe.  
 
Always seeking new inspiration, Linda has lived and traveled in Europe—and throughout the United States. She resides in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.  
 

 
 
The artist completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in printmaking; and a Master of Humanities degree through Wright State University. She received her Master of Fine Art degree in printmaking from Marywood University.
 
Linda was one of six artists awarded a 2011 solo exhibition at the Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Gallery in the Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center of the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College.  Her work was also selected for the 2011 International Women's Day Centenary Global Arts Initiative Web Exhibition, "100 Women, 100 Artworks".
 
Additionally, her painting, "Along the Amber Trail" was included in a special display featuring American women artists for the 2012 International Women's Day program of events sponsored by the Dolnoslaska Biblioteka Publiczna of Wroclaw, Poland.  Anderson's painting is now part of the library's permanent collection.
 
Paintings from the artist's current and largest body of work, her "Dimensional Landscapes" series have been the feature of several solo exhibitions.  Select works from this collection are currently available through Linda L. Anderson Fine Art Studio.
 
 
 
 

 
 
Linda's landscape-themed art conveys the artist's fascination with the manner that the angle and the quality of light transforms surfaces.
Her paintings often have a layered, textural quality that engages the senses of sight and touch while exploring how we perceive and orient ourselves in relationship with the living landscape.
