Artist Levi Peirson

An example of fine art by Levi Peirson

Photo of Levi Peirson

Born and raised in California,  Levi has always had a love of nature and color and has produced works of art since his childhood days growing up in the country.
A degree in fine art was obtained from Biola University where Levi began studying the work of the masters, the most influential being Rembrandt, Frederick Lord Leighton, Bouguereau, and J. W. Waterhouse.
Towards the end of college, an interest in the early impressionists was developed, the most notable being Monet, Degas, Sargent, and Van Gogh.
Other artists who have influenced Levi are N.C.Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth and contemporary artists Mark Boedges, Michael Klein, Marc Bohne, and Cesar Santos.  It was the art of American artist Maxfield Parrish that taught Levi that color can achieve its most vibrancy through being mixed by the eyes, seeing one color through another by using transparent glazes.
For many years levi worked artistically sculpting prototype toys, but is now focusing on his first love, painting.
- “The first demand any work of art makes upon us is surrender. Look. Listen. Receive. Get yourself out of the way. (There is no good asking first whether the work before you deserves such a surrender, for until you have surrendered you cannot possibly find out.)”     -  C. S. Lewis
