LeAnne was born in New Mexico, moved to Pennsylvania, and she and her family later settled in North Carolina. She lives with her husband, Chris, and their 2 adopted dogs in Chris’s grandparents’ former home, which has graciously tolerated a major remodel and now includes space for a studio.
LeAnne enjoys painting en plein air (outdoors) as well as in her studio. She says, "I'm very inspired by the beauty of nature, so landscapes are a frequent subject of my paintings. We're such a busy society now and so electronically connected 24/7 that it's a real treasure to just go outside and unplug. I believe Emerson said it best.... "Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air." When I was growing up in the 70's I spent a lot of time outdoors, so nature always brings back wonderful memories for me."
LeAnne has participated in gallery shows, invitational shows, plein air painting competitions, museum shows and national juried shows.  She has won numerous awards, but LeAnne is more interested in continuously improving and trying new techniques. One of her favorite quotes is by artist Mary Todd Beam: “I see now, after years on this journey, that the path is long and the destination passes in and out of sight. I hope I'm never 'there'. I hope I never become self-satisfied.”

LeAnne does accept a limited number of commissions per year. "Life should be about sharing and connecting and paying it forward. That's really what I'm trying to do with my artwork....sharing my love for beautiful experiences and helping others do the same."
The artist is represented by The Overland Gallery, Kinston NC, and Wild Hope Gallery, Alpharetta GA.
