Laura and her husband Keith are the owners of Studio 8369, a destination art gallery in scenic Grand Lake, Colorado.  Born in Colorado but raised in the mid-west, Laura and her husband pulled up stakes and moved from Kansas City to Grand Lake in 2013.  In the spring of 2017 they bought the art gallery in town, moved Laura's studio in and revamped the space...creating a warm and inviting gallery where you can cozy up on the couch and watch her paint.
Laura's career in art began in 1993 when she started painting on a freelance basis for Hallmark's Keepsakes Division.  After a near fatal heart attack in the fall of 2006, she decided it was time to get serious and really learn to paint.  She enrolled in an oil painting class with Mark Christopher Weber in his Kansas City studio where she studied for two years.  She continues to learn and grow as an artist by seeking out artists she admires to learn from them.  These artist include:  Michael Albrechtson, Joshua Been, Billyo, Tina Garrett,  Quang Ho,  Daniel J. Keys, Richard Schmid and Karen Vance.
Laura has participated in many group shows and local plein air events, winning numerous awards.  Her paintings are included in private and corporate collections across the country.
She is a member of the Oil Painters of America
