L. Tracy Paz is a painter who combines her affinity for the California landscape with portraits of the people and animals living in it.  She studied printmaking at the DeCordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA, and rendering and painting at the California Art Institute in Westlake Village, CA.  Her early hard-edged colorful ink abstracts were exhibited in the Expanding Canvas in Boston’s Faneuil Hall and in the New Artists at Madison Square Garden in New York in the 1980’s, and more recently, her graphite botanicals have been exhibited at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia, CA, and the Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA.  Oils, graphite, pen and ink, and photography have been continuous threads in her artwork over decades.Ms. Paz lives in Central California.“My drawings and paintings provide a means of exploring the interface between that which comes through me, and my conscious choices.  I’m fascinated by the variety of the California landscape; evolving over an unimaginable span of time, and yet changing significantly in my own lifetime.  My intent is to create artwork with enough depth of feeling and visual interest to hold up over years of observation – and to thoroughly enjoy the process of that creation.”
