Statement

I want to capture the essence of a person or animal with light, color and composition.  More than just a likeness, I strive to capture the soul, spirit and personality.

My work has impressionistic colors, lost and found edges and often soft complimentary backgrounds.  I communicate different moods with color, unusual cropping and close, intimate points of view.  Pastel is perfect for expressing the sensitivity and softness of an animal's fur or a child's skin.  I am honored to be able to create these personal portraits that enable others to remember their cherished loved ones, be they family, friends or animal companions.   Portraits often become beautiful heirlooms that are passed down for future generations to enjoy and treasure.
