Artist's Statement:
"My work often reflects my fascination with the sky and the way it affects the landscape beneath it. More often than not I am drawn to the nocturne - those times of the day when subtlety reigns, the world becomes more simplified, calm and uncomplicated."
Kimberly S. Moore studied fine arts at the University of Akron. Her work has been juried into and has received awards in numerous regional and national exhibitions. Kim’s work has been exhibited in the prestigious Midyear Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, as well as the Degas Society’s Biennial National Pastel Exhibition.
She especially enjoys painting en plein air and capturing the mood and atmosphere of the locations she paints. Her passion for painting en plein air has made it possible for her to explore locations in France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Romania, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the magical Monhegan Island.
Kim is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, a juried active member of the Degas Pastel Society, a member of the Portrait Society of America and a signature member of the Akron Society of Artists.
Painting in Amsterdam, July 2014
