Biography


Kerry is a creative watercolor painter who enjoys all the wonderful techniques that watercolor offers.  She likes to develop her subject from the exploratory beginnings of abstract design and color.  Many of her paintings end up being landscapes or flowers because she loves nature.  She prefers a simple interpretation about the places that she paints blending reality and fantasy to express the essence of each subject.  An artist learns by creating art and examining everything ,some artists call this self-teaching.  Besides this form of art learning she has had the great pleasure to study art by taking workshops and classes from many different professional and masterful artists such as: Edgar Whitney, Robert E. Wood, Rex Brant, Milford Zornes, Helen B. Reed, Robert Gray and many others.  These wonderful learning experiences have forever changed the way she perceives the world and art.  She has a Masters degree in Education and loves teaching children and adults.  She owned the Greenwood Plantation Gallery in Greenwood Florida, where for twenty-eight years she taught art classes to children and adults, did custom framing and had gallery shows for local artists.  Her work has been shown in many juried art shows from California to Florida and has earned her many awards.  While living in California she spent four years showing her work at the prestigious Art-A-Fair Festival in Laguna Beach.  She was a featured artist in the grand opening of the Art-A-Fair Gallery in downtown Laguna.  In Florida she has exhibited in many outdoor fine art festivals such as; Mainsail, Art Harvest Dunedin, Mount Dora, Tarpon Springs and many others.  She is currently teaching watercolor at the Dunedin Fine Art Center in Dunedin Florida.  She is an exceptional teacher who is available for classes, workshops or demonstrations. She is a Signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society, the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society, [...]
