Biography
I grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey, eleven miles southwest of lower Manhattan. As a child and teenager, I was extremely artistic, taking great joy in painting, drawing, and other creative activities.
My full-time artistic pursuit evolved from my experiences in business and healthcare. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University in New Jersey and worked for several years in Investment Banking on Wall Street. I then earned a Master of Science Degree in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics from New York University and ran my own nutrition consulting firm. With the intent of living life more creatively, I launched my full-time artistic career in January, 2001. Subsequently, I have studied oil painting with numerous nationally recognized artists at Scottsdale Artists' School, in Scottsdale Arizona. In 2006 and again in 2009, I was awarded a Merit Scholarship from Scottsdale Artists' School. I tutor individual students and have taught oil painting classes at the Via Linda Center in Scottsdale, Arizona and at The Boulders in Carefree, Arizona. In April, 2010, I published my first art book, "Feel the Joy! - Joy Inspired Paintings and their Stories". I was very excited to publish an E-Book version of "Feel the Joy" in 2013.Nationally, I am a member of Oil Painters of America and the American Women Artists. In Arizona, I am a juried member of both the Arizona Art Alliance and the Sonoran Arts League. I love painting a variety of subjects in oil — still life, florals, landscapes, wildlife, pet portraits, and people! I also create one-of-a-kind, commissioned paintings.I currently sell and show my work through my art studio, [...]
