An example of fine art by Kathy Faraone

I came to painting late in life.  By some random YouTube watching I stumbled upon painting with oils and cold wax.  I have not looked back.
I had always wanted to paint but have had no formal art education.  In grammar school, art class was mainly art discouragement - the kindergarten teacher recoiled at my drawing of trees - "Those aren't trees; they’re lollipops!"
After raising a family and retiring from work as an acupuncturist, I set out to fulfill a lifelong desire to create art.  Working with fabric art for several years taught me lots about color.  But the wanting and wishing to paint never left me.  Who would have thought that YouTube surfing would lead me to the world of oil and cold wax painting.  It's been a long strange trip that has led to this wonderful place.
