Kathleen Newby grew up in a small town in Michigan.  As a child, Kathleen was extremely artistic and would draw and paint for anyone. Art was something Kathleen loved, but did not have much access to it until entering Western Michigan University as a Fine Arts Major.  As a student, Kathleen took every art and art history course offered.  Kathleen put art on a backboard to spend full time raising her children and to be a wife.  The pull towards being creative, and the love of art continued.
Moving to Arizona in 2000, Kathleen discovered the Scottsdale Artists' School, she began to study with numerous nationally recognized artists. Her career was launched.
"Oh, the miracle of God to have given me this talent to create."
Kathleen has been juried into numerous fine art shows, and has been awarded many awards for her work.
Nationally, Kathleen is a member of Oil Painters of America and American Women Artists.  In Arizona, she is a member of the Scottsdale Artist League, a juried member of Arizona Art Alliance, and the Sonoran Arts League.
Kathleen resides in North Scottsdale.
