I love to oil paint. Painting fills my thoughts. Painting connects me to myself, and amazingly, to everything. It expresses the deep primal reverberation and resonance I feel with the world I move through.

As a predominantly plein air artist, my subject is the spectral quality of light. (I see the spectrum of colors everywhere.) While color is very important, I am also devoted to good composition and value. My favored media is oil paint, directly applied with a knife and adjusted one pure color at a time.

Graduating with a degree in both illustration and design, instead of going to work for a design firm, I chose to paint. I have studied with Wolf Kahn and Susan Sarbuck. My home is in the Salt Lake Valley, where I've built a greenhouse studio to keep me warm in the Utah snow. [...]
