Art has always been my passion even before I knew it was.  I have always felt happiest when I was creating something beautiful.  Throughout my life, that creativity has taken many forms until I discovered how much I enjoy painting.
My mom, Toni Arnett, is also an artist.  Growing up we always had the smell of oil paint and turpentine in our house.  My sister and I loved watching our mom create her paintings.  We were so proud of her.  She was my first introduction into the world of art.
I took art classes in high school and loved it.  I even thought about majoring in art but the practical side of me decided on nursing instead.  My mom bought me my first set of oil paints when I was in my twenties.  She has always encouraged me and has been my biggest supporter.  She has taught me most of what I know about painting.  After having a family and raising our kids I have been painting full time.  It is such a joy and a blessing!
I am originally from Lubbock, TX and lived there until I was 21.  I studied Pre-nursing at Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor Degree In The Science of Nursing from the University Of Kansas.  I worked as a critical care and emergency department nurse for 13 years, then retiring after having our two children.
I have been married for over 20 years and have a daughter and a son.  My husband and I are currently living in Leawood, KS.
