Deriving inspiration from her surroundings in the enchanting Black Forest of Colorado, Karen Button’s artwork both captures and subtly reveals a glimpse of the bare essentials and timelessness that are reflective of, God’s creative work in motion.. Reaching beyond our own reality, Karen’s work inhales life and light and exhales serene tranquility.
Karen Button, considered one of the area’s most creative talents studied at Loretta Heights College in Denver, CO as well as at Allens Lane Art Center in Philadelphia. She further refined her studies under the teaching of such notable artists as Sandra Hoffman, Ginger Whellock and Bill Joseph.
Sandra Hoffman, under whom Karen studied for many years, described her art as such: “A study of elegance in realism and landscape. Her oils are a masterful display of color, with human depth and heavenly tone. They are majestic yet demure; they softly whisper a command of attention. Their stories unfold gently, ushering you forward into warm realms, like mantras on paper and leaving you renewed. It is not enough to describe her art as beautiful, when it is capable of making the on-looker sense so much more.”
Karen has worked closely with designers on commissioned pieces over the last twenty years and is honored to have six large scale oil paintings permanently showcased at Focus on the Family.
