Artist Julie Snyder

An example of fine art by Julie Snyder

Photo of Julie Snyder

Julie Snyder is a self-styled "old-school" artist who paints from her studios in Los Angeles, California and in the South of France.
Born and raised in Scotland, artist Julie Snyder attended traditional drawing and painting instruction at the Glasgow School of Art. She was strongly encouraged to pursue art by an artist-mother and a writer-father.

Julie's artistic career has spanned both sides of the Atlantic and included several years of residence in Southern Spain.  Now, a long time resident of California, Julie Snyder forged her craft initially as an illustrator in advertising, publishing and the motion picture industry. But, those commercial art days are behind her. She is now dedicating her painting time to the fine art world exclusively.
Her work hangs in collections and galleries across the USA and Europe.
Her painting "Action 20.0" is included in the permanent public collection of Academia Luciana, Civitella, D'Agliano, Italy. The painting was inspired by IKF Kickboxing World Champion, Ognjen Topic.  The National Art Museum of Sport honored her three times; including her paintings of boxers “Before the bell” and "Seeking the Target" in their annual exhibits and awarding Snyder the prestigious gold medal for painting in 2013 for her painting "Daily Drill". Her painting of chefs,  "Blinn House Kitchen Chefs", hung in the Pasadena Museum of History with the Contemporary Masters | Artistic Eden exhibition.
She has exhibited with The Oil Painters of America at the Waterhouse Gallery, Santa Barbara; and the Howard/Mandeville Gallery in Washington; Addison Art Gallery in Massachusetts, The Boston International Fine Arts Show, Silvana Gallery's International Salon of Figurative Art . She has had work shown at the landmark Ebell Club of Los Angeles with the California Art Club and Women Painters West. She is represented by Danielak Fine Art of Pasadena,  Silvana Gallery, Glendale and B2 Fine Art Gallery in Washington.
