 Judy Ferguson lives just out side Tupelo,MS., in rural Itawamba County. She enjoys painting scenes from her immediate surroundings as well as other areas around the country. She also likes to paint animals, both domestic and wildlife. She occasionally does a still life or a floral.   Judy  studied with the late Billy Kirk for an extended period of time. He was her friend and mentor, and she learned many valuable lessons from him.  She has also studied with such renowned artists as Roger Dale Brown, John  Potoschnik, Bob  Harper,  Dawn Whitelaw,  and Pat Walker Fields.  She reads extensively and has studied the written word and videos of many other well-known artists such as Richard Schmid, Kevin MacPherson, Robert Hagan, Craig Nelson, and many others.  Judy is a founding member of  Mississippi Painter's Society,a member of  Women Painters of the Southeast, and a member of Mississippi Oil Painter's Association,  She is represented by the  Corinth Artists' Guild and Gallery in Corinth, Ms.  Her artwork can also be seen at  the Welcome Center in  Tremont, MS. and Gifts Galore and Florist in Mantachie, MS. as well as Pizzazz Salon in Tupelo, Ms.  Judy was honored with a one person show at the Corinth Artists' Guild and Gallery in March of 2009. She received an honorable mention  for her painting "The Draw" in the MPS'  3rd annual Paint the Town Competition" in 2009  and an honorable mention in the NE. MS. Painters Association.'s annual competition in 2009.
