Artist Statement
Judith is a versatile painter who works in oils and watercolors. Her oil paintings are a combination of realism and impressionism, rich in color, texture, and brushstrokes. She's greatly influenced by the great masters, Vermeer and Rembrandt. Her watercolors, meticulous in their use of color and design, contain varying degrees of opacity and transparency. Recently she has begun a series of abstract landscapes in watercolor.  Her source of inspiration is the natural world and its beauty. Judith's paintings reveal an artist who has aptly gathered passion and solid technique to create a strong, creative body of work. Judith is originally from Ontario, Canada and holds degrees in fine art and art education. Her experience in the field of art education led her to believe in studying with other professional artist as the pathway to learning how to paint professionally, both in watercolor and oils. Her happiest and favorite early memory was of walking alone in a field of beautiful flowers that were taller then she was (age 6). The colors were illuminating and awe inspiring.

Judith has lived all over the United States and has recently moved to the beautiful Northern California coast.
"Color, light patterns, shapes, values, and shadows are what I closely observe to create my paintings. I strive [...]
