Thank you, Jo Storey!! I wanted a unique gift for my parents and I couldn’t be more pleased with the lovely painting you did of my mom’s two Golden’s, Sophie and Gracie. Not only did you capture Sophie’s gentle spirit and Gracie’s mischievous spunk, but the way you shared the entire process with me, from beginning to end was fantastic. I felt like I was part of the process, as I watched the painting come to life through the sketches you sent me, conversations about colors and backgrounds and meeting with me in person twice as you brought the girls to life on canvas. I cannot wait to gift my mom with this painting...as any pet lover will attest to, our fur babies are members of our family and I can’t thank you enough for capturing them in such a special way!! Your warmth, talent and professionalism made this a very special memory. Art is such an important reflection of the beauty in our lives!!

He looked at me crossed eyed and then smiled, pulled out an old ragged canvas for me to "try" on and we were off. He knew nothing about painting with oils, so he found a library book to guide us. It was a huge canvas and I painted an ocean scene he had suggested out of the book.  We were both pleasantly surprised when it "turned out". From there I painted my own designs and ended up in Tacoma's City wide student art show with Honorable Mention.  I have painted or created full or part-time since 1975.  But even with all that, Art was not my first selected profession.  I always included art, painting or creative classes in my courses at college and university, but actually graduated in 1982 with my BA in Business and minor in Marketing.  "Sensible" degrees from Western Washington University.  I was pretty successful in my business, sales and marketing life working in the corporate world at a very high level.  I ran divisions and was even a Vice President of a fortune 500 for many years.  But I, like others who have a dual personality for art [...]
