I was  born and raised on the coast of Maine and received a BS in Art Education from the University of Maine, Orono. I moved to Baltimore, Maryland where I raised a family and did graduate work at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and Towson State University.  I received a second degree in Fine Arts from The Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore.  My home is currently in Eastport, MD, where I also have a studio.
Much of my work encompasses water and beach themes and figures in familial settings.  I have always had a special bond with the coast, particularly the rocky coast of Maine, and the coastal shore of the Chesapeake Bay.  Many of my plein aire paintings depict summer landscapes of Maine and Maine's Monhegan Island.  My figure paintings stem from my fascination for figures in familial settings.  I often include a pet, special place or activity in my paintings to bring out each individual's uniqueness and the special character of the family. I also explore creative expressions in jewelry and my newest and most exciting medium is oil painting on glass, producing a stained glass effect. You can learn more about my work by exploring the individual links on this website.
