Joanna Kutter resides in Madison and Edgerton, Wisconsin where her Studio on the Edge is surrounded by woodlands that inspire much of her work. She graduated with a B.A. degree in Studio Art from Beloit College where she also taught in the Art and Art History department. She has studied with leading watercolorists in Texas, California, and New Mexico.  Her works are included in many private, corporate and institutional collections and have been selected for purchase and display in Wisconsin public buildings under the Wisconsin Art Purchase Awards program.  She has also been a juror for the Edge of the Rock Plein Air competition in Beloit, Wisconsin.
In 2009 Zonta Club awarded her its "Tribute to Women" and in 2010 she was among those identified as "People Who Matter" by the Janesville Gazette for her contributions to the arts.

                                   Integrated Arts, Evansville, Wisconsin  Public Collections Four of Joanna's works are part of Swedish American Hospital’s main lobby in Rockford, Illinois.  A four piece ledge wall at Café Belwah, Beloit, Wisconsin was installed in 2007.  "Treehouse" was commissioned in 2013 by SSM Edgerton Hospital and a recent commission piece, "Birches" hangs in the main lobby of Beloit Health Systems Cancer Care Center.
