"The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher."  Luke 6:40

Artist’s Statement:
Bold color and energetic brush strokes make my heart beat faster.    My eyes were opened to the beauty of this world by master instructors and artists who studied with colorist Henry Hensche who learned from Charles Hawthorne and others in the Impressionist tradition.  Fortunately for me, they shared their knowledge.   Light affects color; therefore, an artist who paints color, paints light.  My goal, spiritually, is to be a reflection of the light of God.  Artistically, my desire is to translate the light and beauty I see in creation to the viewer and back to the Creator in thankfulness.  "The student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher." Luke 6:40
