Artist Jim Ostlund

An example of fine art by Jim Ostlund

Photo of Jim Ostlund

Jim draws his inspiration and information directly from life.
His enrollment in the American Academy of Art in Chicago is where he set his course in the Fine Arts. His pursuit in this direction continued at "Atelier Lack", under the guidance of Richard Lack.
Lack was part of a direct lineage of master artists dating back to the 19th century French Academies and beyond through his teacher R.H. Ives Gammell in Boston.
Jim states, "it was at the Atelier that I began to gain a profound appreciation for the subtleties of nature."
Remaining a life long student, Jim's love of his profession continues as he pursues new inspiration and seeks out new challenges.
Jim continues to paint commissioned portraiture as well as concentrate on personal work.
His paintings are held in many private and public collections world wide.
