Artist Jim Franecki

An example of fine art by Jim Franecki

Painting is something that I have enjoyed doing for as long as I can remember. I originally went to college to major in art, but marriage and family pulled me in a different direction. Yet, even while working in the consulting field, I always stayed close to my passion, art.
I began to paint professionally when friends in the art world made me realize that my avocation could be my vocation. In the spring of 2010, I entered my first art competition and won the Wisconsin State Exhibit Award for “Creek Street,” a scene from Ketchikan, Alaska. It has been such a crowd favorite that I had a puzzle created out of it.
I continue to hone my skills and have studied under Lorin Willey. Lorin is an award-winning painter who has exhibited his work throughout the United States and Ireland. His work is featured in prestigious collections in America, Ireland, England, Scotland, Belgium, France, and Australia.
My paintings can be found in private collections and businesses around the country. I am also working on other ideas such as note cards and calendars.
