Artist Jill Quadagno

An example of fine art by Jill Quadagno

Photo of Jill Quadagno

Jill Quadagno has been drawing and painting for most of her life, encouraged by her two aunts who were professional artists. She has studied oil painting with Kevin MacPherson, Michael Chesley Johnson, John Stanford and Joe McFadden and pastels with Nancy King Mertz.  Her paintings express her emotional response to beauty in nature. They are not an exact representation of a particular scene, but rather reflect her desire to capture the sensation of light and color. She paints many subjects but is most intrigued by the beauty of the north Florida landscape with its brilliant light, lush flora and picturesque coastline.
Jill has exhibited at the City Hall, Thomasville Cultural Center, the Old Armory Gallery, the Gadsden Arts Center, LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts, the Jefferson Arts Center and the Claude Pepper Library, where she was part of a three woman show. In 2009 her painting, Reflections, won Second Place in the Big Bend Senior Art Showcase.  In 2012 she was selected as Artist of the Week by the Council on Culture and the Arts.  Her painting, Hay Bales, was featured on the 2010 Christmas card of the National Academy of Social Insurance.  Her paintings were recently shown in a solo exhibition at Sage Restaurant.  Jill’s paintings are in private collections around the country.   She is a member of Plein Air Tallahassee, and the Artist's Guild of the Gadsden Arts Center.
