Biography

I am but a hunter of phantoms and such,
with a net made of gossamer wings.
And a brush with a flourish,  and a spatter of paint
the color of wonderful things.
from THE POET
by Jerry Johnston

When I began my undergraduate education I attended North Texas State University. I majored in cards and girls, and excelled at both. Unfortunately my academic studies suffered and I was an average student at best. I made several attempt to complete my education, but most of what I learned was from the streets. I concluded my college studies in art at Texas Christian University under Professor Jim Woodson. I studied privately with artist and teacher Michael Ann Harper and with renowned watercolorist Charles Reid. My work has been shown at the Yellow House Gallery in Fort Worth, Hilton Head Art League in Hilton Head South Carolina, Culture Clash Gallery in Salida, Colorado, Fort Worth Community Art Center, Adobe Western Art Gallery and at the Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth, Texas. I am a member of the Texas Artist Coalition. My work is currently available for viewing by appointment. Please call 817-791-8475 or email [email protected]
I am also an avid poet and will be publishing several poetry collections in the coming months. I am a member of Poets of Tarrant County, The Poetry Society of Texas and the Academy of American Poets. Samples of my work are available on this site.
As a singer/songwriter I have produced two studio albums which are available on Amazon and all digital music platforms.
