An example of fine art by Jay Pendexter

After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Cornell University in 1987 I started working through the 1990s as a part time professional artist working in soft pastels and watercolors in Boulder Colorado and then Jackson Wyoming with a brief stint in Minneapolis Minnesota.  During that time I worked on commissions, entered and displayed at juried art shows and in restaurants, cafes, art guilds, libraries and a newspaper business. I regularly sold paintings in a silent auction to help raise money for a conservation group in Jackson.
I took a hiatus from my professional work then decided to move back out to New England (where I grew up) and decided to go full time as a professional artist. I switched from soft pastels to oil pastels but kept working with watercolors.  I started Jayzart in 2006 and had my own website and then a hosted one with"Webs" and now I am with FASO because Webs wasn't really meant for artists. Anyway, since that time I have had 3 studios (in Cambridge, MA, Boston, MA and Framingham, MA) and am currently in a studio with my wife -a photographer- in the Howard Street Studios building in Framingham. Since I have been here in Massachusetts I have displayed my art at three restaurants, four libraries, Jorie Designs Gallery and Gifts in Marlborough, MA, the Wayland Community Art Fair, a retirement home, a pharmacy, Lasell College's Wedeman Gallery in Newton, MA, Gallery Seven in Maynard, MA, Premier Image Gallery in Ashland, MA, Amazing Things Art Center in Framingham, MA, Fountain Street Fine arts in Framingham, MA and the Mill Gallery in Framingham, MA.
