An example of fine art by Jay Exon

It is my belief that the most important task ahead of us is to find our joy and share it with others. My interest in painting has evolved into a passion and here I share it with you. Joseph Campbell wrote, “Follow your bliss.” So that’s what I’m doing.
I approach my craft with a method of intuition. I let things happen. My body of work demonstrates persistent efforts to grow in the art form and each paintings is a genuine reflection of my heart. My paintings are emotive, evoking the viewer’s feelings rather than being neutrally or objectively descriptive. They stir the imagination.
Titles are important to me as they hint at how I interpret the works. Each of my paintings unveils a meaningful narrative to me. However, I encourage you to find your own stories in my pigmented expressions.
Jay Parker Exon began flourishing a brush painting large scenic drops and stage sets for the theater, apprenticing with noted set designer Richard Ellis, former Scenic Coordinator for Radio City Music Hall. Though his abstract style of painting is seldom seen on the stage, he brings to each work a sense of theatricality and employs learned techniques of color theory and materials use.
Jay lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his cat Clancy.
