Biography
Welcome to my website.
Just to let you know a little about myself. I grew up in the charming Southern town of Roswell, Georgia. After graduating from high school, I attended Young Harris College in the mountians of North Georgia. I then went on to travel the world while serving in the Navy for 6 years. Once completing my military career in 1988, I decided to return to my roots of North Georgia. I currently reside in Coal Mountain with my wife, MJ and dog, Bridget.
Being a nature, animal & architecture lover, I enjoy painting my surroundings. Having visited many breath taking places around the world, I am still most impressed by the beauty of the landscapes of southern architecture. My favorite setting to recreate would be a pasture filled with horses or cows and an old barn structure. I also enjoy painting pet portraits capturing the personality of our furry little friends. Ultimately, I want to create a piece of art that my client feels a part of, whether it is a special place to them or somewhere they would like to be. With a history in furniture making, I also enjoy constructing the perfect frame, which is a piece of art within itself, to compliment my artwork.
I have had the privilege of studying with some amazing artists - John, Pototschnik, Roger Dale Brown, Ken Deeward, John Guernsey and Deborah Paris - to further my training. And the highlight of my artist career to date is having 2 of my works represented at the Georgia State Capital for "The Art of Georgia: Celebrating Georgia's Landscapes and People". What makes this event so special is that my great grandfather was a member of the carpentry team that built the cabinets (still in use today) that houses the displays of Georgia's history.
