Biography

  Born in Springville, NY, Mr. Moorer has spent most of his life in Westchester County. He has traveled extensively and draws inspiration for his art from old-world and contemporary sources, as well as the beauty of the world around him.
 
He studied at the Connecticut Institute of Art, Greenwich, CT, the School of Visual Arts, NYC, NY and the Art Instruction Schools, Minneapolis, MN.
 
He is the former Art Director for Brian Studios, Inc., Mt. Kisco, NY. As the head illustrator for Mena Publishing, Inc., he illustrated the cookbook, Cookin' the Old-Time Southern Way with Venezuela.  Jason was commissioned by Geri Blackwell-Davis to create the cover painting for her novel Josette and Caleb. He also created the cover illustrations for her later novels The Revenge of Juny Bell Rogers, Twins of the Father and Tena's Terror.  
 
Jason is an accomplished fine artist and illustrator with works ranging from fantasy to reality. He works primarily in oils but has also used watercolors, acrylics, charcoals, pastels, airbrush, and digital art. His work has included commissioned portraits of people, pets and the homes that they live in. Other work has included still lifes and murals for children's bedrooms and commercial play spaces, including Playscape II, Brewster, NY and various other freelance assignments. He has honed his skills over the last 25 years and studied under the world renowned portrait artist Daniel Greene in his workshops.
