Presently, Janie lives in New Orleans and in Destin, Florida, but is an enthusiastic traveler and particularly enjoys photographing and painting Southern as well as international landscapes and architecture.
Says Stewart, "My style of painting is most influenced by the techniques of John Gaddis, who taught the style and techniques that he learned from the California School of Watercolorists in the 1970's and 1980's.  These were masters of painting light, and value was the key to a successful painting." These principles guide her artistry.
Janie Bass Stewart's paintings and the prints from the originals hang in both private and corporate collections in all parts of the country.
