Biography

I believe that I was born with a talent for making art, but I didn't discover my talent until I went to College.  Coming very close to failing my math class made me rethink my choice of majors.  I took my first Art class the following semester and the rest is history. I took my fledgling talent to the classroom and learned what I needed to teach as I went along. Most of my 25 years of teaching was directed toward classroom assignments. When I retired I set a goal for myself to return to making art for my own enjoyment. The Universe lead me to a teacher and I was introduced to a new way of painting and new mediums that spoke to me.
Many of my paintings are started on Yupo paper, a non-porous substrate made from plastic but I also use canvas. High flow acrylics, inks, collage materials, molding paste and many more mediums are all a part of my painting process. My paintings are a journey! Sometimes, without anything in mind, a painting is started and then it tells me what to do next. It is intuitive, thought provoking, challenging and yes, sometimes can be frustrating. I love the freedom of it, the loose quality of it and the inventiveness of it! I
I am using my talent now and finding that this makes me very happy!
