Jim O’Donnell is a traditional landscape artist who paints in both oil and watercolor.
Born in 1948 in Salem, Massachusetts he currently resides in Hooksett, New Hampshire.  Although he has always considered himself to be a creative person he did not start painting until much later in life. From his studio or en plein air, he loves painting the landscapes and seascapes of New England - from Maine to Cape Cod. His paintings strive to capture a moment in time through light, texture and color.
Primarily self taught, he has been very fortunate to receive instruction from some talented local artists at New Hampshire Institute of Art, Kimball Jenkins School of Art and E. W. Poore Studio in Manchester, NH.  He is inspired by the works of several artists including Joseph Mcgurl, Mark Delessio, T. J. Cunningham, Randy Knowles, Kathleen Dunphy and Elizabeth Tolley.
He is a member of  NH Plein Air Painters and the current President of  Manchester Artists Association which awarded him Artist of the Year in 2017.  He has participated in many juried and non-juried exhibits at venues including East Colony Gallery in Manchester, NH, the Audubon Center in Auburn, NH, the Bernerhof Inn in Glen, NH and the Fine Arts Exhibit, Sunapee Landing Trading Co. in Sunapee, NH. He has also shown in several invitational exhibits at the Ellis River Gallery in Jackson, NH.  He has participated in several group/regional shows including South Portland, ME,  Newburyport, MA, Keene, NH and New London, NH.
