Jacqueline England resides in the Mississauga, Ontario, Canada area, but was born in Nottingham, England, and immigrated to Canada as a young child.  She returned to the U.K. to further her education and while there, she became introduced to the realm of horses,  and as a young teen, spent many a day “mucking out”, grooming, riding and showing horses. That was a turning point in Jacqueline’s life, and upon returning to Canada, saved her money until she had enough to buy her first horse.  That was the beginning of a long friendship between her and the several horses that she raised, trained, owned and showed over the years. 
Horses weren’t Jacqueline’s only love, she adored cats, dogs, and all wildlife, and has included these in her repertoire of art.  During her spare time, she took up the art of designing artist bears, and these unique hand-designed bears have appeared in numerous shows and gift shops throughout Ontario and has been featured in bear magazines throughout Canada, the United States and Britain.
Upon retiring she turned her first love of owning horses to painting them and under the tutelage of Michael Spillane of the Spillane Studio of Fine Arts, she realized that dream of putting to canvas not only her detail of horses but of the many wildlife and domestic animals that had also captured her interest over the years.  Jacqueline finds that drawing her subject first in fine detail before placing it on canvas gives her further insight into her subject.
Jacqueline, has worked in various mediums, such as pastel, watercolour, gouache, acrylic, graphite and also oil.  She decided to continue with oils as she loved the intense colour that could be achieved using them.  When she paints, it is imperative that she strives to create photo-realism, especially [...]
